First and foremost, I am a mother to two amazing little girls, Ava Jo & Zoey Blythe. They keep me on my toes 24-7. Ava is my dreamer and animal lover. She is 10 years old and in 5th grade! Zoey is a wild child. She keeps everyone on their toes. You will not find her walking; she runs or hops EVERYWHERE! She is 6 and in 1st grade! I also must mention my amazing husband, my girls' awesome dad, Joe. He is a graphic designer, so when I get crazy artsy ideas for T-shirts and layouts for the yearbook and newspaper, he helps me out. We have 1 puppy, Jax; 1 cat, Oscar; and two beta fish, Dragon and Meera.
I love reading, watching documentaries, and going to the ZOO.
I was born and raised in Herrin. I attended Herrin High School for the majority of my academic career. I am now, and was then, a very active member in this community. I am the current adviser to the one and only Tiger Tattler Newspaper AND Herrinite Yearbook, which I am very passionate about! I am a board member on the IHSA Journalism Committee, and have obtained the title of a CJE (Certified Journalism Educator). I am also part of the Tiger Pride committee here at HHS. We are the guys that come up with all the fun activities the students and community participate in for the high school! I, along with Mrs. Cornelius and Ms. Bonifield, also take much pride in bringing more knowledge and info to our RTI program at HHS. You will find me at and in almost all events here at Herrin High. I love being involved and watching students grow into great individuals through fun, learning, and hardships.

I am very eager to begin this year as your English teacher at Herrin High School. I hope for a good time and to learn a few things, myself, along the way.
I'm pretty easy going. If you respect my assignments, my classroom, my rules, the learning environment, and those in it, this semester will be a breeze for you.

This video project I assigned to 3 pretty amazing individuals, who have since graduated, is one of my proudest moments as a teacher. Project B made a mark on society, and so it should, because this video is so near and dear to my heart and my beliefs as a person and an educator. In a world full of focus on the bad, the nasty, and the crude, we need individuals that can find the real beauty, the real good, that exists and those people should share it.
